Thousands Bid Tearful Farewell To Martyred Havildar Murali Naik In Andhra Pradesh

Thousands of people, including many from far-off areas, bid a teary farewellto Havildar Murali Naik, a native of Kallitanda village in Sri Satya Sai District of Andhra Pradesh, who laid down his life in service to the nation. Havildar Murali Nailk was martyred in a cross-border firing by the Pakistani forces along the Line of Control on the night of 8th May,
His mortal remains reached his home village last evening, and thousands of people gathered to bid farewell to the fallen hero. The state government announced an ex gratia of 50 lakh rupees, five acres of agricultural land, 300 square yards of plot and a job to the next of kin in nis family. Later in the evening, he was laid to rest with full military honours coupled with State honours.
