Eflite Firebird Stratos motor upgrade

Eflite Firebird Stratos with a bit more kick. One of my usual birthday traditions and really glad i launched when i did, right before the wind kicked up harder and more rain. Total manual flying this bad boy, heck yeah!
Changed out the old dc motors and servo board that originally came with this cute little beginner plane after a long time sitting in storage, felt it was time to stop looking at it and actually get it upgraded. My son accidentally caused it to smoke about 10-11 years back when he plugged in the battery backwards and killed his interest in flying, sorry to see that.
Chose the Racerstar 2205/2300kv motors with the DAL 5040 4 blade propellers, and 2 eflite 30 amp esc's to power it up. The battery compartment underneath houses the Tattu 1400 4s lipo pack rather good but did need some tape to protect it from landings The receiver used is a Lemon dsm2 6 channel receiver which have given me very little trouble even after multiple years of use. The radio is the Spektrum DX6 and used the flaperon function with the esc's plugged into the aileron and flap/aux channel. Utilized an additional mix function to allow the throttle to vary the motor on the flap function which controls both motors simultaneously. As i found, the rates needed to be turned down additional 50% to attain a normal flying condition for relaxing control, the rates i had were definitely good for performing aerobatics with. The full rates i had would have allowed it to probably enter an eternal flat spin quite easily, perhaps try again on a less rainy day.
As for an older trainer plane, the airframe seems quite resilient for all the abuse it has endured over the years of flying and storage and really glad to have held on to it, hope to install a basic camera and transmitter, and if i can find the original landing gear, save it from further grass clipping collections under the fuselage.
