This video is our complete guide on how to download and install NeoForge for Minecraft in 2025. This will allow you to get NeoForge mods like Just Enough Items, Waystones, Biome’s O’ Plenty and any other NeoForge mods you want. Lets dive into it!

To get started, go to the “Download NeoForge” link in the description above. That will take you to our complete text guide that will always be up to date to the most recent version of NeoForge. On this page click the “Download NeoForge” button to go to NeoForge’s official download page.

On this page, click the “Latest NeoForge Installer” button to download the NeoForge Installer. You can also go to the “For Other Versions” drop-down, click the button there, and then download specific versions of NeoForge.

We can now move on to how to install NeoForge in Minecraft. Start off by finding the NeoForge Installer you downloaded, and right-click on it. Selection Open With and “Java”. The NeoForge Installer will then open up. If it doesn’t, you will need to download Java from the description above. Java is required to install NeoForge.

In the Installer, click on “Proceed”, and NeoForge will install in Minecraft. The only reason that NeoForge will fail to install is if Minecraft or the Minecraft Launcher is open, make sure those are closed, and you will need to have played the version of Minecraft you are installing NeoForge for.

At this point, we go into the Minecraft Launcher, click on “Installations” at the top and make sure the “Modded” checkbox is checked in the top right. You will have a NeoForge Installation. Hover over this, click Play, click Play again, and Minecraft will now open up with NeoForge.

How do you install NeoForge mods now that you have NeoForge itself? Well, to get started, make sure that you are downloading NeoForge mods for the version of NeoForge you are installing. It’s worth noting that Forge mods will not work. NeoForge mods MUST be for NeoForge. You can download mods from CurseForge and Modrinth, which are both linked above and even filter for the NeoForge mod loader.

Once you have mods, play Minecraft with NeoForge. Then, click on the “mods” button on the main menu. In the bottom left, there will be a “Open Mods Folder” button. Click this to open your mods folder. Drag-and-drop the NeoForge mods you want to install into this mods folder. It’s that easy!

Now, just restart Minecraft, making sure you are playing with your NeoForge installation, and your mods will be active in-game!
