The first step to design online courses is making sure you have an offer people want. To do that, you have to ask them. If you don't have your own audience already, you can borrow audiences.
A trick I use every time I design online courses is I find groups within Facebook or within LinkedIn, groups that have a similar audience as the course I want to create.
Next, you want to test the market. You do it by asking people. You survey an audience and see if people are interested. You go into those Facebook groups and you say, "Hey! If I created this course on this or this or this topic, which one would you be most interested in?"
When you design online courses, make sure you are testing the market, you're asking what people want, and you're putting out quality surveys to see if people are interested in your offer.
