Ezio Bosso - Solitudes

A native of Turin, Italy, Ezio Bosso studied double bass, counterpoint and song in Italy, and subsequently specialized in Vienna at the "Hoch Schule für musik". A world-renowned concert player since his debut at the age of fifteen (in a series of recitals both in France and Italy, and with the Vivaldi Symphony Orchestra of Alessandria), he has made several tours in Europe, Mexico, Columbia, Australia, Peru, the United States, Japan and Israel, and taken part in Festivals and concert seasons in Italy and abroad. He was guest in various European chamber orchestras as a soloist, and since 1993 he has collaborated as first bassist with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Symphonic Orchestra of the Swiss Italian radio, with the British Schidloff Quartett and with the Turin Quintet. Since 1997 he has been the first double bass at the Teatro dell'Opera of Rome. Furthermore, he writes music for theatre in Italy, Germany, France, England and Australia and film soundtracks for silent cinema, working with film libraries and European cinema museums. In addition to teaching double bass masterclasses at the Myiazaki University in Japan, he teaches double bass for specialization course at Iannis Xenakis of Paris, as well as teaching the use of music for the stage in research laboratories.
