Browning Lever Action Rifle BLR - White Gold Medallion

Hi folks, I’m sharing another beautiful sporting rifle. This is my Browning Lever Action Rifle (BLR) – White Gold Medallion edition. The specs and details are listed below. Enjoy!

The White Gold Medallion BLR comes in a few different calibers, while the standard BLR offers a wide variety of calibers.

Advertised weight: 6 lbs. 8 ounces or 2.9 KG
Carry weight fully outfitted: 8 lbs. 5 ounces or 3.8 KG
Overall length: 40 inches or 101.6 CM
Barrel length: 20 inches or 50.8 CM
Twist rate: 1 in 12 inches
Caliber: .308 Winchester

Optics: Swarovski Z3 3-10x42 with a BRH reticle
Scope mounts: Talley BLR medium height lightweight alloy mounts product #940711

Features:
Recessed crown to help protect the rifling.
Brass bead front sight and adjustable rear sight.
Stock: 4/5 grade Black Walnut with a Rosewood cap, very nice checkering and a beautiful gloss finish throughout.
Studs on the forearm and butt to accommodate a sling.
It has a pistol grip design, which is very comfortable.
Aluminum alloy receiver with engravings on both sides.
Gold trigger with Browning Buck Mark logo on trigger guard.
Polymer recoil pad – average quality.
The trigger pulls away with lever, which is a very nice feature.
It has a rack and pinion system for smooth and reliable cycling.
It has a multi-lug rotating bolt, which is another premium feature.
It has a two stage fold forward hammer. It offers half-cocked or fully cocked/fire ready mode.

It only comes with one detachable metal box magazine, which holds 4 rounds.

Caution: although I had a GrovTec GTHM-285 hammer extension placed on my rifle, it is important to note that Browning does NOT recommend using a hammer extension on a folding hammer. Please be aware that this device is NOT RECOMMENDED.

Cons:
The recoil pad is only of average quality.
The trigger has some noticeable take up. It does not offer the same crisp break as the Browning X-bolt
The magazine sticks out and does not sit flush like on the X-bolt. Also, the magazine should have come with a nickel finish to match the receiver perfectly, especially on a rifle of this quality. I think this was a miss by Browning.

My preferred ammo:
.308 Winchester Power Max Bonded PHP 150 grain 2820 fps
.308 Barnes Vor-tx Tipped Triple Shock 150 grain 2820 fps
.308 Hornady GMX Super Performance 150 grain 2940 fps
.308 Federal Trophy Copper 150 grain 2820 fps

Overall this is a beautiful compact rifle capable of taking a variety of different animals. It is accurate, functions well and will likely retain its value for many years. Be safe
