Manual Wind, Automatic, or Quartz Watches, What's the Difference?

Broadly speaking there are two types of mechanical watches: manual wind and automatic. Automatics are sometimes confused for quartz movements which require a battery and are a totally different beast. Automatic watches have a mechanism that winds itself as you move your arm throughout the day, while manual wind watches requires winding the crown every day or two. #watches #watchmaking #watchrepair
