Burris Elliminator III 400 yards Shooting in Rain

Taking a shot at a 10" steel plate from under the covering of the back porch. Remington 700 .308 AAC-SD 16.5" barrel. Burris Elliminator 3 Scope. Rain was coming down pretty good. Had some good wind gusts but I made the shot right in a break where it was coming down pretty straight. Only took one 168gr Federal Gold Medal Match BTHP. I was a little suspect that it would be so simple. Weird to think you can shoot something through that rain, 417 yards away with a dry bullet. It said 420 on the first read. Then I pushed it again for a camera shot through the scope on the trees right above target and it said 417. I was having a little trouble getting it to read through rain too. Took a few pushes for it to register. Also my phone was already recording and I picked it up, and when I hit the red button I was actually turning the record off. That is why that clip is so short. Canon rebel with sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 sport lens with a 2x teleconverter on it. I was really pleased with the video at that distance, with it being so dark out. That white smoke on the top of the bullet arc was weird. Somebody probably knows what that's all about?
