Ultrasound Video showing a small Polyp in Gall bladder.
This video shows a small Polyp in Gall bladder.
The growths that protrude from the lining of the inside of the gallbladder are called Gallbladder polyps. Polyps can be cancerous, but very rarely. Polyps are benign in about 95 percent of cases. Only about 5 percent of gallbladder polyps are malignant. The size of a gallbladder polyp can help to predict whether it's malignant or benign. Gallbladder polyps that are less than about 10 millimeters in diameter are unlikely to be cancerous and generally they don't need any treatment. Follow-up examinations may be suggested to look for changes in size.
Gallbladder polyps that are larger than 10 mm in diameter are more likely to be cancerous or turn into cancer over time. The polyps larger than 18 mm in diameter may pose a significant risk of being malignant.
