Sortir du Chaos: Prof. Hela Ouardi, La naissance du premier califat de l'Islam: une tragédie moderne

On Thursday 9 May, Hela Ouardi, professor at Tunis University, gave a lecture entitled "La naissance du premier califat de l’Islam: une tragédie moderne". Professor Ouardi talked about the origins of the first Islamic Caliphate and the ruptures and violence that characterised its foundation. She is the author of the 'Les derniers jours de Muhammad' and of 'Les califs maudits: la dechirure' (2019).

The new series of lectures, entitled Beyond Chaos, is devoted to the contemporary geo-political and cultural configurations of the Middle East Mediterranean. The title, inspired by last book of Prof. Gilles Kepel, evokes the chaotic and unstable situation of the region, but it suggests new narratives and ways out to the critical issues.

Giovedì 9 maggio Hela Ouardi, professoressa all’Università di Tunisi, ha tenuto una conferenza intitolata 'La naissance du premier califat de l’Islam: une tragédie moderne'. La professoressa Ouardi ha parlato delle origini del primo califfato dell’Islam e delle lacerazioni che l’hanno caratterizzato. Hela Ouardi è autrice del libro 'Gli ultimi giorni di Maometto' ed ha da poco pubblicato 'Les califs maudits: la dechirure' (2019).

È intitolata “Uscire dal caos. Configurazioni geopolitiche e culturali del Medio Oriente Mediterraneo” la nuova serie di incontri organizzata dalla MEM Freethinking Platform. Il titolo, ispirato all’ultimo libro dello stesso Prof. Kepel, evoca la caotica e mutevole situazione della regione, suggerendo al contempo nuove narrazioni e potenziali vie di uscita alle criticità.
