Churdhar Mahadev is a Shiva temple in Himachal Pradesh with an altitude of 12,000ft
Highest Peak:
Churdhar (elevation 3,647 meters or 11,965 feet) is the highest peak in the Sirmour district and the outer Himalayas.
Religious Importance:
It's a significant pilgrimage site for people from Sirmour, Shimla, Chaupal, Solan in Himachal Pradesh, and Dehradun in Uttarakhand.
Wildlife Sanctuary:
Churdhar is part of the Churdhar Wildlife Sanctuary, home to various flora and fauna, including the state bird of Himachal Pradesh, the Monal.
Other Names:
It's also known as "Churi-Chandni" or "Bangles of Snow".
Trekking and Landscape -
Challenging Trek:
The trek to Churdhar is considered moderately difficult, with steep inclines and rocky paths.
Panoramic Views:
The summit offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks, including the Dhauladhar, the Greater Himalayas, and peaks in Uttarakhand like Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
Flora and Fauna:
The area is rich in herbs and alpine flora, and you might spot animals like the monal, koklass, kaleej pheasants, musk deer, and Himalayan black bears.

Below the summit is a deodar-roofed temple of Lord Shirgul Devta, housing a lingam dedicated to Lord Shiva (Chudeshwar Mahadev).

Other Approaches: You can also approach via Sarain (Chaupal, Shimla) or Pulhwal (Chaupal, Shimla).

Bus Stop: Churdhar has a bus stop with limited services.
