Rep Lisa Campbell SB 233 2 23 23

Representative Lisa Campbell, GAHD35, takes to the well of the Georgia General Assembly to oppose SB233 because investing in our public education is the single most important thing we can do to improve the lives of ALL Georgians.

I urge everyone to consider voting no for SB233 for two main reasons:

#1 ~ This bill takes public funds and hands them over to private entities without accountability that protects parents and kids.

#2 ~ This bill dilutes funding for our local public schools who are already trying to make up for 30 years of underfunded budgets.

Rather than voting for this bill we could do new things to unite and invest in:

* Fully funding Pre-K and Kindergarten

* Provide for professional salaries to attract and retain quality teachers

* Fund literacy curriculum enhancements to improve embarrassing forty-second ranking

* Increase professional learning for educators

* Expand funding high-quality curriculum

This bill doesn’t diminish the rights of parents to send their kids to the schools of their choice. This bill does diminish our public schools.

As the great granddaughter of two public school teachers, the granddaughter of a Cobb County school teacher, and the daughter of a high school chemistry teacher I urge you to vote no on SB 233.
