Runtime Virtual Textures in Unreal Engine 5 | Tutorial

In this Unreal Engine 5 tutorial, we’re diving into Runtime Virtual Textures and how to use them to blend your meshes seamlessly with the landscape.

We will create a material function that you can easily reuse across all your mesh materials. This way, you can choose to blend your rocks, cliffs, and props into the terrain.

Note:
If your landscape material is using Virtual Textures (VT) and you're also trying to use Runtime Virtual Textures (RVT) to blend static meshes (like rocks) into the terrain, you might notice the normals and surface details from the RVT appear blurry or incorrect.

Fix:
To avoid this, use regular textures (not VT-based ones) in your landscape material when using RVT for blending.
