How to Install Inside Mount Lifestyle Motorized Solar

Most people think installing their own blinds is hard. Following the simple, step-by-step instructions in this video though makes hanging your custom solar shades easy to do yourself! Today we’ll show you how to put up a solar with an optional snap on fascia. Just screw in your brackets, snap on the roll and fascia and you’re done!

Here’s how you do it:

1. Depending on the width of your shade, you may need more than two brackets, which can be centered between your outermost brackets. Since we are installing a shade with a fascia, there are two sets of brackets. The first set that we need to install are the fascia brackets.

2. Once you've decided where each bracket will be placed, mark these areas with a pencil.

3. Use the holes in the top of each fascia bracket to mark where the screws will go.

4. Measure between your marks to make sure they’re aligned before you screw them in. We also recommend pre-drilling pilot holes once everything’s aligned. This makes it easier to drill your screws in.

5. One at a time, place each bracket over the marks or holes you’ve made and drill the screws in loosely. This gives you a little wiggle room for any adjustments to make sure the brackets are straight and aligned.

6. Finish drilling in the screws all the way.

7. Insert the shade installation brackets into the fascia brackets.

8. Locate the idler/pin and install it into the left shade installation bracket.

9. Insert the shade into the idler so that the fabric unrolls on the back side of the roll.

10. Clip the opposite end of the shade to the other bracket. They should fit together like a buckle on a life jacket.

11. Add the fascia by tilting it down so that the bottom is pushed inwards towards the window, while the grooves on the top are aligned with the fascia brackets. Tilt the fascia up and it will click into place.

12. Congratulations! You just installed your own solar shade! Wasn’t that easy?
