LAW121 - Concept of Property
Protection of private property rights is a fundamental pillar of the common law. The structure of social and economic life, who exercises power and the quality of people's lives depend to a large degree on who controls property, and the legal rights those people possess. This lecture examines the influence of the thinking of John Locke on the concept of private property and how that thinking informed European ideas of land rights.
