Monty Hall Problem Explained

Monty Hall problem is a classic logic puzzle that is based on the actual game show Let's make a deal hosted by Monty Hall.

There are three doors. Behind one oh the doors there is a car, behind the other two goats. The contestant picks one door, Monty Hall then opens another door and shows a goat. Monty Hall then offers the contestant to switch door to the other closed door.

What is statistically correct to do now? Does it matter if you change door or not?

The solution for the Monty Hall problem is intensely debated, mainly in the 90's. The debate started of with a column by Marilyn Vos Savant in Parade Magazine and engaged thousands of readers.
