How to sew hand pleated ruffles

Sewing hand-pleated ruffles is therapeutic for me. I usually plan for 3 times fullness and make a little extra. The fabric strips are cut two times the width of the finished ruffle plus one extra inch as shown in the video. I don't always measure the pleats as I'm sewing. Sewing slowly yields greater benefits. And remember, there is beauty in imperfection.
