World War Two Littlewoods Bunker Complex | Amazing Art Deep Inside | Urban Exploration

The now derelict Littlewoods Building was completed in 1938, by the Scottish Architect, Gerald de Courcey Fraser

The Littlewoods building’s vast, well-lit internal spaces were enlisted in the national interest during WWII.

At the outbreak of the war the building’s mighty printing presses were used to print, 17 million National Registration forms, in just three days.

The floors of Halifax Bombers, were assembled at the building, and it was also the nerve centre of MC5, the government agency that intercepted mail to break enemy codes

The building was part of Sir John Moores' Littlewoods empire, which included the weekly football pools coupons played by millions, as well as the high street stores around the country.
A number of redevelopment plans had been discussed for the site in recent years but had all fallen through.

Suffering a serious fire in 2018, thought to have been started deliberately, this magnificent building is sealed off and guarded.

However, underground and out of sight, lay a network of tunnels that were constructed by the war ministry for the important workers at the Littlewoods buildings.

The tunnels contain Bomb shelters, this whole complex was sealed off in 1948 and remained buried for many years.

Recently opened by an unknown party, it was found to still contain artwork and graffiti on the walls, dating from the1941 Wartime Blitz and ‘Battle of the Atlantic’, when parts of Liverpool, its rail yards and docklands suffered more bombs per square mile than the London’s East End. Let’s now explore this expansive tunnel complex.
