🔸Legend difficulty should actually works properly now.
Konami's code has two switches that handle difficulty tiers 0-5 but they literally forgot case 6 (Legend). Every time you change formation or tactics during a Legend match, the AI drops from Legend to Regular difficulty - disabling pass targeting, tactical evaluation, pressing coordination, and defensive positioning. Then snaps back on the next tick. This has been broken since release.
🔸Updated AI dribbling system.
The vanilla AI has a 40-degree angle gate that forces an instant safe pass whenever the player faces more than 40 degrees away from the attack direction. That's barely looking sideways. I have re-coded the gate scales with the player's Dribbling stat and difficulty tier. A midfielder with 80 Dribbling at Superstar can receive a sideways pass, turn, and play forward. A defender with 55 Dribbling still passes quickly. The stat should matters more now.
🔸Midfielders changes.
Team pressing distance was 22 meters - half the pitch width. Midfielders would sprint across the field to press, leaving massive gaps between midfield and defense. Reduced to sensible distances with per-role scaling.
🔸Tuned goalkeepers to be a little realistic.
I have rebalanced the GK system so the full range actually affects save quality. Your 99-rated GK will save shots that a 63-rated GK won't. Also faster prejump commitment on directional saves.

🔸Players should attempt to shoot more.
The AI only considered "turn and shoot" when the player had 80+ Dribbling. Everyone else always passed. Lowered to 67 so competent players can attempt shots when facing goal.
🔸Less pointless feinting.
After any long kick, the AI had a 4-frame window where passing evaluation was skipped entirely - the only option was feint/dribble. If the player had Scissors Feint or Trickster COM style, they'd do a pointless skill move on the wing instead of crossing or passing. Reduced to 2 frame.
🔸Fixed SS Hole Player.
Konami's own documentation says Hole Player works at SS position. They actually forgot to put in the code... so that's fixed.
🔸Restored dynamic team morale system.
Konami wrote a system where teammates' key actions would boost the whole team's stamina resilience. The code has a bug where it reads the current player's own data instead of each teammate's. The system never fired in any PES 2021 match, ever.
