AWS Organizations: A Powerful Tool for Managing Multiple Accounts
If you're working with multiple AWS accounts, you know how challenging it can be to keep track of resources, control costs, and ensure security across all of them. That's where AWS Organizations comes in.

AWS Organizations: An Overview
AWS Organizations is a service that enables you to consolidate multiple AWS accounts into a single organizational structure. This allows you to centrally manage policies, permissions, and billing across all of your accounts. With AWS Organizations, you can create a hierarchy of accounts, organize them into groups, and apply policies to those groups.

Management Accounts and Member Accounts
The main account in an AWS Organization is called the management account. This is the account that you use to create and manage the organization. You can also create member accounts, which are accounts that belong to the organization and are managed by the management account.

Using AWS Organizations to Control Multiple Accounts
AWS Organizations provides a number of features that enable you to control multiple accounts:

Service Control Policies (SCPs): SCPs are policies that you can apply to groups of accounts to control which AWS services they can use. For example, you could use an SCP to prevent all accounts in a group from using AWS Lambda.
Tagging: AWS Organizations supports tagging, which allows you to assign metadata to accounts and resources. You can use tags to organize and filter your accounts, and to control access to them.
Consolidated Billing: AWS Organizations allows you to consolidate billing for all of your accounts into a single payment instrument. This enables you to view your costs across all of your accounts, and to allocate those costs to individual departments or teams.
Advanced Features: AWS Organizations also supports advanced features like AWS Single Sign-On, AWS Resource Access Manager (RAM), and AWS Trusted Advisor checks.
