GitHub Copilot - How Much Time to Migrate Web Forms to Blazor #githubcopilot
GitHub Copilot | ASP.NET Web Forms to Blazor in Visual Studio 2026 - Part 3

How Long Would Copilot Take to Convert ASP.NET Web Forms to Blazor? (Visual Studio 2026 Test)
In this video, I put GitHub Copilot inside Visual Studio 2026 to the test by asking it to convert a very simple ASP.NET Web Forms page into a Blazor component.
The application I’m working with is extremely basic—just a small Create page with a form and minimal logic. No complex data binding, no user controls, no ViewState-heavy components… just a straightforward Web Forms page.
Because of that, my expectation is pretty realistic:
👉 Copilot should not take more than 30 minutes to migrate something this simple.
After all, it’s only one page, and Copilot is supposed to automate the tedious parts.
But here’s the real question…
💬 What if it takes more than an hour?
At that point, I’d have to seriously question the time savings. Would it have been faster to just manually rewrite the page in Blazor instead of waiting for AI-assisted conversion?
In this video, I walk through the entire process, evaluate Copilot’s accuracy, and decide whether the AI migration workflow is actually worth it for small Web Forms projects.
