HEALTHCARE IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC // IS IT SAFE?

Hope you all had an awesome Memorial Day Weekend! I made this video a little bit ago but obviously it's still relevant. This is more of a "chat" and casual conversation rather than a researched video, because I wanted to share my personal experiences with health care here. I definitely am not trying to belittle the healthcare system in the Dominican Republic or compare it outright to medical care in the United States. There are for sure pros and cons to each! This is simply my OWN experience living here for the past couple years. Overall, it has been pretty good and I have gotten the care that I need and do feel that it is safe in the good hospitals. I am glad that I haven't had any severe medical need or accident here though. It's very interesting to see the differences in their processes, insurance, cost, technology, etc!

I would love to hear about your experiences with healthcare either here in the Dominican Republic or in your current country. As an American expat, healthcare is one of the important things to consider when moving anywhere.
