How To Build A Battery Charging Station For Videographers | Under $100!!
Watch how I built a battery charging station for under $100!
If you are a videographer and find yourself having to manage a multitude of different batteries to charge and want to keep everything in one place & don't want to spend a lot, this is for YOU!
**EDIT** - When charging larger batteries such as the NP-F979's they generate a little bit of heat naturally. The heat would tend to separate the adhesive from the velcro strips on the back. This would make the charger eventually become unstuck (not good) from the peg board..To fix this issue I simply super glued the velcro strips to the back of the charger and there have been no further issues!
Also, to save yourself the trouble, buy additional power cords so that if you are traveling you can leave all the cords in place behind the pegboard if you need to bring the chargers with you, so when you return everything is still in place.
Tools you'll need that are not included as a part of the build:
Hammer
Wall Anchors
Screws
Level
Power Drill
a 7/8" Hole Dozer Drill Bit

You could save a bit of money if you opt for a basic power strip vs a "theater" Surge Protector, but I liked the option of the USB power ability as well as the protection it provides, but this was the most expensive part of the build and accounts for more than 50% of the overall investment.
The benefit to this build is that you can add more pegboard as your needs grow. If I need more chargers or end up buying more things that require power, I can simply attach another pegboard and build as I go.
NOTE:
As I neared the end of screwing these into the wall, I only screwed in a little bit as to give myself a little bit of wiggle room behind the board to run the cables, this can be tricky to get a power cord from one area to the other but it can be done and with that extra room you get from not screwing it all the way against the wall helps, once you have all of your chargers and cords threaded just go back and finish tightening the screws and it'll be good to go.
