The Jaguar People were only one of the many ancient races who swore a duty to safeguard Mother Earth--even if, sometimes, that meant protecting her from the humans themselves Yet because the People are her guardians--there to preserve the Mother--nothing prepared Jes for that day, as a child, when she saw what could happen when one of her People went rogue. After all, they were here to look after the Mother--and that included the humans. They were not there to hunt--and take lives. That day put Jes on his path, and she did everything in her power to bring him down. Yet, in doing so, even Jes hasn't prepared to face the prophecy. And even though she knows the prophecy foretells of four princes, the sons of the dark mother, who rise up with a nation of old vamps to stop the rogue factions from ruling over mankind--she is in no way prepared for the man who challenges everything she believes--to face her own destiny.... In the hidden realms of this world lies a secret that could destroy the human race… Jess refuses to give up her search for the boy she once loved, who destroyed her dreams and betrayed the Jaguar People when he killed one fateful day seven years before. But can she let go of the past and embrace this chance they've been given to begin again? (Sister Series to Cat People, Jaguar Witch and Daughters of the Circle)

Once, there existed a civilization of Jaguar People. This age-old race and the ancient vamps spent 100’s of years trying to protect the races from being governed by the Dark Cloth, who sought to gain control and dominance over Mother Earth. The Humans allowed the true darkness to make buildings in their cities, buildings that conveyed their dark energy. They allowed the true darkness to take up leadership—and now they followed this leader in ignorance, while they feared everything spirit.

The Jaguar People were not an immortal race. They just lived to grow so old they appeared immortal. However, because of the hardships this placed upon their bodies, the people didn’t have a lot of children. Families were typically lucky to have one child.

The Jaguar People could mate with a human, however, at a price, but if one found their true mate among the Jaguar People, they would sense them from miles away. They could smell their blood more keenly than that of any humans and could read each other, hear each other’s thoughts.

The Jaguar People were a extremely spiritual race. To save Mother Earth there existed a prophecy amongst the races—of elite members, Princes of the Dark Mother. One of these elite Princes was the Prince of Fire of the Jaguar People, a Prophesy so old to be considered a fable, even to his own people--who would have violet-white, almost-translucent skin, one who would have vio
let eyes. This one was to bring balance to the races, and the people looked for him for a long, long time. When this Prince of the Prophesy was borne, he would train from birth for the moment he would step forward and make himself known.

The Alliance was borne of these ancient races and had worked to keep peace, even though the humans had forgotten everything. It had worked—because the Greys had not been able to take over the Earth—they still had their home—and they weren’t about to allow groups of rebels to jeopardize all of their hard work.

Some of these had a lot to say about the childlike ways of the Alliance—some not-so-nice things were said about how the Alliance pandered to the equally childlike humans—who were not even aware that they put themselves and their home at risk every single day with their continued, ignorant beliefs that they were alone. On top of which—they continued to war with themselves, when they needed to get with the program of protecting their home from a much bigger threat than any human
There were those who wanted to stop the Alliance from maintaining peace with the humans—with the different factions of the Fae—who saw this as a way to control the world.

The Earth had been in extreme danger of being taken—but so many of the humans were awakening, and many of the Starborne and Fae believed it was time to teach them—not give up on them. Yet the factions of rogue vamps—and other more-hostile Fae were not amongst those who had joined the Alliance—and these were the ones who now jeopardized the Alliance.
