Here is a timeline of the key events in the disappearance of Sarah Everard as a serving police officer has been arrested a week after the 33-year-old went missing.

Boris Johnson has said he is “shocked and deeply saddened” after human remains were found in the search for missing woman Sarah Everard.

Writing on Twitter the Prime Minister said “we must work fast to find all the answers to this horrifying crime”.

Police are continuing to question a serving Met Police officer who has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
