Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.

Newgrounds is an entertainment website and company founded by Tom Fulp in 1995. It hosts user-generated content such as games, films, audio, and artwork composition in four respective website categories, and also provides visitor-driven voting and ranking of user-generated submissions. Fulp produces in-house content at the headquarters and offices in Glenside, Pennsylvania.
In the 2000s and 2010s, Newgrounds played an important role in Internet culture and in independent video gaming in particular. Newgrounds has been called a "distinct time in gaming history", and a place "where many animators and developers cut their teeth and gained a following long before social media was even a thing"

SpongeBob SquarePants (or simply SpongeBob) is an American animated comedy television series created by marine science educator and animator Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon. The series chronicles the adventures of the title character and his aquatic friends in the fictional underwater city of Bikini Bottom. Being the fifth-longest-running American animated series, its high popularity has made it a media franchise. It is the highest rated series to air on Nickelodeon as well as the most profitable property for Paramount Consumer Products, having generated over $13 billion in merchandising revenue as of 2019.[4][needs update]

Many of the series' ideas originated in The Intertidal Zone, an unpublished educational comic book that Hillenburg created in 1989 to teach his students about undersea life.[5] He began developing SpongeBob SquarePants into a television series in 1996, and in 1997, a seven-minute pilot was pitched to Nickelodeon. The network's executives wanted SpongeBob to be a child in school, but Hillenburg preferred SpongeBob to be an adult character.[6] He was prepared to "walk out" on Nickelodeon and abandon the series, but he compromised by creating Mrs. Puff and her boating school, so that SpongeBob could attend school as an adult.[7]

Nickelodeon aired a preview for the series in the United States on May 1, 1999, following the airing of the 1999 Kids' Choice Awards. The series later officially premiered on July 17, 1999. It has received worldwide critical acclaim since its premiere and had gained enormous popularity by its second season. The thirteenth season began airing in October 2020,[8] and the series was renewed for a fourteenth season on March 24, 2022.[9] The series has inspired three feature films: The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004), Sponge Out of Water (2015), and Sponge on the Run (2020). Two spin-off series, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years and The Patrick Star Show, premiered in 2021. As of February 2022, four additional films are in the works – consisting of three character spinoff films for Paramount+ and a new theatrical SpongeBob film.

Red Mist
Our story begins with the narrator, an intern at Nickelodeon in 2005, getting to see episode "Fear of a Krabby Patty" days before it actually aired, along with some other interns and editors in the studio. However, instead of said episode, the title card presented "Squidward's Sui/ide", which, at first, they just shrugged it off as a morbid joke.
The episode began with Squidward practicing his clarinet, when SpongeBob's laughter interrupts him. Squidward yells at him to keep it down as he has a concert to practice for. SpongeBob agrees and goes to see Sandy with Patrick. Then, the bubbles splash screen transition comes on and shows Squidward hiding behind the theatre curtains, visibly nervous about his upcoming performance.

When the presentation begins, the audience is repulsed by Squidward's awful performance, and boo at him, aggressively. Even SpongeBob booed, very much unlike him. Weirdly, however, the whole crowd had weirdly realistic, extremely detailed bloodshot eyes. Squidward is visibly traumatized at the sheer rage from the crowd.

The narrator, along with the others, were obviously confused, but still decide not to question it.
