How Tamsulosin works in BPH
Tamsulosin is a selective alpha1A blocker that acts on prostate and bladder resulting in relaxation. One of its main use is in the treatment of BPH, the later being a condition in which prostate enlargeent results in urinary retention in the patient. In such situation, Tamsulosin can selectiely relaxes prostate and bladder resulting increased urinary flow. It is well known under the brand name Flomax.
