EXHIBITION "SPIRITUALITY. CHURCHES OF ODESSA” WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE INTERNATIONAL CHARITY PROJECT "UKRAINE ABOVE ALL"
St. Ivo Helory Charity Fund provides free legal, psychological, social, and spiritual assistance to low-income and socially vulnerable groups of the population, orphans, and widows. The charity also participates in works to fight poverty.
It also assists with legal information, consultation and clarification of legal issues. The organization provides assistance in drawing up legal and procedural documents for religious organizations and aids in the return of church properties.
It carries out human rights activities to restore the violated rights of citizens and works to protect social guarantees.
St. Ivo Helory Charity Fund together with the Spirituality of Odessa Organization and with the support of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral is holding the exhibition "Spirituality. Churches in Odesa" within the framework of the international charity project "Ukraine Above All".
The exhibition features a collection of works by Ukrainian artists Viktor and Yuriy Osetenko.
Viktor Osetenko (1939-2018) was a Ukrainian that painted in the genres of landscape, portrait, and still life. In years1954-1959, Viktor studied at the Grekov Odesa Art School, his teachers were Atsmanchuk, Yehorov, Kryzhevsky, Pavlyuk, Lomykin. Free attendant of the Leningrad Academy of Arts. In 1970-80 Viktor Osеtenko was the chief artist of Odesa. He was awarded a medal of the memorial named after Repin for the best portrait.
Many years ago, Viktor Osetenko, after visiting one of the churches, felt the need to make a series of paintings dedicated to the churches of Odessa.
So, this is an opportunity to see them through the prism of painting.
