FLASHKNiFE: FLASH Radiotherapy System for Clinical Investigations
Many technological advances have made radiation therapy a powerful treatment for patients. However, the efficiency of conventional radiotherapy, which is carried out in several minutes, is limited by the side effects and damages caused on surrounding normal tissue.
FLASH radiotherapy delivers an ultra-high dose rate in a fraction of a second, destroying cancerous cells without causing any collateral damage to healthy tissue. FLASH-RT gives great hope to cancer patients all over the world and shall revolutionize radiation therapy in the near future, making it safer, more precise and more efficient.
Here at PMB, we are developing FLASHKNiFE, the FLASH radiotherapy system, that will enable future cancer patients to be cured in a FLASH.
