I recently polled my Instagram audience and asked:
1) Negative comments (including back-handed compliments) about your hair growing up, were these mostly made by friends/family OR random strangers?
* 84% said family/ friends; 16% said random strangers
2) Of all the negative comments made, which ones hurt more, the ones made by family/friends OR random strangers?
* 89% said family/friends; 11% said random strangers
3) Have you ever had a significant other make negative comments about your natural hair?
* 42% said unfortunately yes, 58% said thankfully no
