STEP 4: INSTALL STEAM AND ENABLE PROTON FOR ALL GAMES IN A LIBRARY

Install Steam through the Software Manager, and log into your account once installed.

Navigate to Settings / Steam Play / Advanced, tick the Enable Steam Play for all other titles, click OK and restart Steam to apply.

You can also enable Shader Pre-Caching and Allow background processing of Vulkan shaders to improve performance when using Proton which is found at Settings / Shader Pre-Caching.

STEP 5: ENABLE FERAL GAMEMODE FOR GAMES LAUNCHED THROUGH LUTRIS OR STEAM

To enable Gamemode for a game in Steam, right click on a game’s properties, navigate to Set Launch Options and type the following:

gamemoderun %command%

Then click Close, and finally OK.

Alternatively for Lutris, you need to add gamemoderun to the Command prefix, which can be found at System preferences / System options.

Please note that you will need to enable Show advanced options for this to appear, and click Save once you are done.
