QR Codes: Link Audio File to Image for First Graders
This video tutorial will explain how to link an audio file to an image in order for students to listen to the stories, told by themselves and each other, that go along with the pictures. They use a scanning app (from an iPad or another device) to access the audio file. In this case, I took close up photos of each first grader's smile, organized them in a Google Docs Table and used Vocaroo, an online tool, to record their stories of how they lost a tooth and to create a QR Code to that audio file to go with their photo. In the end, I printed and laminated cards of each Photo/QR Code Pair so that the students can try to guess which smile and story belong to which student. This is a fairly easy workflow for teachers of young students o follow. It allows students access to pertinenet content. Plus, they love to hear their own voices.
