Mengel Pass

FJ Cruiser off road: Barker Ranch to Butte Valley via Mengel Pass, in Death Valley National Park. For laughs and giggles all the musical tracks are titled "Death Valley".
Some historical notes:
Mengel Pass is named after Carl Mengel, an historic prospector from the early 20th century. Apparently he lost a leg in a mining accident, and continued to mine. His ashes and prosthetic leg are buried on top of Mengel Pass.
The Willow Spring campsite is located at the head of Anvil Spring Canyon, where the rented Plymouth Voyager of the "Death Valley Germans" was found in 1996. Their remains were found in 2009, approximately 8-9 miles south of where the van was found. Inexplicably, after they punctured three of the vans tires they had hiked south rather than return 4.5 miles to the Geologists Cabin, which would have provided water and shelter from the July sun. An excellent, first-hand account of their eventual discovery and a plausible explanation of why they made the fatal choices they did is here (http://www.otherhand.org/home-page/search-and-rescue/the-hunt-for-the-death-valley-germans/).
The music tracks are, in order: Death Valley by Patrick Doyle (Album: Impression of America); Death Valley by René Aubry (Album: Chaos); Death Valley by Aerial Visions (Album: City Life); Death Valley by The Green Door (Album: The Green Door).
