Favorite Christmas Gifts: Pineapple from Jay @SquarePegs

Christmas time is one of my favorite times of the year, it's a time for joy, time for cheer, and time for presents! And some presents are meant to be fun, some are meant to be funny, and some are trying to win an argument that's unwinnable. Such as the case with today's gift.

One of the best things to happen to the channel over the last several years is the close-knit friendships with several other creators. @JohnRiggs, Kris from @GameDadShow, Jay from @SquarePegs. Our tight little group tends to help and support each other, and provide tips and feedback on videos, thumbnails, and directions for our channels. At one point in 2021, one of our Facebook Messenger chats delved into whether or not pineapple belongs on pizza. Jay firmly believes it does. I was quick to point out his wrongness, to which led to this gift.

Jay and his wife Meredith, who is a saint for putting up with him, sent me a package in 2021 with some items. One of which was a ceramic pineapple vase with fake pineapple leaves coming out of the top. He was using this to double down on his very wrong opinion about pineapple on pizza and trying to make a point. Well, I have proudly displayed the pineapple in the game room ever since I received it. But pineapple does NOT belong on pizza.

This reminds me very much of a tradition between my uncle and aunt and my mom and dad. One Easter one of them, I think it was my mom, got this chocolate rabbit. There's nothing spectacular about it, but randomly this damn thing started showing up in each other's houses. One day my uncle and aunt would have it show up somewhere in their house, and then the next it would show up in my parent's house. They made an agreement that whoever passes away first gets buried with this damn thing, and as both of my parents and my Uncle Don have passed, my Aunt Judy will end up with this in the end. However, in the meantime, somehow I wound up with it. Unfortunately, I now live 4 hours away from my aunt and my cousin, so since I received the rabbit I've been unable to pass it on back to them. But I will make sure that my aunt winds up with it.
