The Bizarre Story of the US Army's Camel Corps

Before the Civil War, the U.S. Army tested camels for desert travel out west. They were strong, fast, and strange to look at. When war broke out, the "Camel Corps" was abandoned. Some were set loose-roaming wild for years. One camel, named Old Douglas, even made it to battle. Yeah... we said camel.
