FOCUS ON THE LORD. Do not be a burden to others. You are worth what others become because of you.
This pandemic has been like a long Lenten season for all of us. The Way of the Cross became so real. So, let's take up our cross and follow the Lord on his way to Calvary.
Just as we don't understand why we feel misjudged, accused, bullied, misunderstood, oppressed. Remember, Jesus was sentenced to death (01:40), innocent as He was. Love. Forgive.
Before we start talking about your cross, please make sure that you are not the cross to anyone. Don't make life difficult for other people. This pandemic has been a big cross for many of us, in addition to the many crosses we already have. Focus on the Lord, not on the load. It is easier to carry a load, if we follow someone. Let that someone be Jesus, as He carries His cross (03:10).
Learn to magnify the Lord, not your crosses, as Jesus did when he falls for the first time (04:57). God is bigger than any of your problems. If you are always focused on your load, you forget that there are more people that have more hurts and difficulties than you. There is a world out there that needs your help.
How many mothers are suffering, as Mother Mary did when Jesus met her (06:09) on the way to Calvary? Let us empathize with our brothers and sisters who are suffering. Let us not postpone our loving. May we have little regrets that we loved too little, too late. Sana po, wala tayong pagsisisi na nagkulang tayo sa pagmamahal.
A lot of people have learned to reach out during this pandemic. As Simon helps Jesus and Veronica wipes the face of Jesus (08:05), we think of the frontliners, who may have fears of getting the virus and bringing home the virus, but still, they risk their lives so that others may live.
As Jesus falls for the 2nd time and 3rd time, (11:59), again, focus on the Lord, not the load that brings you down. Are you a Prisoner of Wealth… Worries… Work… Wisdom… Weakness… Worth? Do not be a POW, but let the love in your heart shine through. You are worth not for what you have, but for what other people have become because of you.
Many of us are so sensitive. Can you imagine being stripped of everything, in public, just as Jesus was stripped of His garments (20:11)?
Have you ever felt like you were nailed on the cross, as Jesus was (21:00)? Will you be able to forgive? Travel light.
As Jesus dies on the cross, we reflect, are we ready to meet the Lord if he calls us today? Like Jesus on the cross, may we have reconciled with our self, with the world and with our God, when the time comes. Let us pray for a meaningful life and a holy death. The cross does not end in death. The cross is about life.
And lastly, smile more often. Did Jesus not promise, I will be with you always?
In this Lenten season, let us find some quiet time to be closer to the Lord. Have you really experienced Him as a loving Father – gentle, understanding and forgiving? Pray to the Lord to reveal Himself to you in a more personal way. And be assured: If God touched you once, He will touch you again and again in His own time, according to His will and grace.
Blessed day to all.
