Smashing Smothered Savory Pork Chops!
Smothered Pork Chop Recipe:
Ingredients:
4 pork chops
1 medium yellow onion (sliced)
1Ib of portobello mushrooms (sliced)
8 garlic cloves minced
Stalk of green onion chopped for garnish
2 cups of chicken stock
1 cup of heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup of flour
Oil
Dry Batter:
1 cup of flour
1 cup of spicy chicken breading from (just us seasoning)
Seasonings:
Adobo seasoning
Slap ya mama seasoning
Country bobs seasoning salt
Onion powder
Directions: Slice your onions and mushrooms up. Then mince your garlic. Set all prepped ingredients aside. Next in a cast iron skillet on medium high heat add your 1/4 cup of oil to the pan and allow it to heat while you season the pork chops. Season pork chops with above seasonings. Once seasoned, make a dry batter and combine your 1 cup of flour with your spicy chicken breading and season with adobo seasoning, onion powder and black pepper. Then coat your pork chops evenly in the flour. Shake access flour off and fry the pork chops in the cast iron skillet until nice and golden brown or until temperature reaches 145 degrees. Then remove pork chops. In the same pan add sliced onions, mushrooms and minced garlic. Sauté until soft. Then add 1/4 cup of flour and cook for 3 more minutes then add 2 cups of chicken stock and 1 cup of heavy whipping cream. Allow sauce to thicken and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Next season the gravy with adobo seasoning, garlic salt and pepper. Season until you reach your desired taste. After transfer your pork chops to the gravy and serve with mashed potatoes and asparagus, garnish with green onion and enjoy!
