The Astichello Park takes its name from the homonymous river in the province of Vicenza, the Astichello river, which flows mainly in the towns of Dueville and Cavazzale, a hamlet of Monticello Conte Otto, to flow into the Bacchiglione at the Pusterla bridge in the city of Vicenza.

The works for the construction of the Astichello river park began in 2010.

The objective that the municipality has set itself is to redevelop and make the Astichello river branch usable because it is currently in a state of degradation and in some places even impracticable, to connect it with the historic center, passing through Querini park and the citadel of the studies. To date, a cycle path has been built that connects the area of ​​via Fratelli Bandiera, near the San Bortolo hospital, with via Pforzheim, near the parking lot in via Cricoli, and with the citadel of studies in via Baden Powel.

This wood is part of the Pianura Forestry Association.
