DIY Porsche Boxster Coolant Change Maintenance

Performing your own Porsche Boxster coolant change, is an important DIY maintenance item to keep your Boxster's coolant & heating system working top notch in both hot and cold conditions.

Coolant is required to not only aid in cooling of the engine and ability to withstand freezing in colder climates; good condition antifreeze prevents corrosion of the entire coolant system as well as the heating system.
Coolant also lubricates the water pump seals which on the Boxster 986 is a known weak component and common failure.

Coolant service in general is one of the most overlooked maintenance items on vehicles likely due to so called "lifetime" coolants; it's little wonder why coolant system failures are the number one reason for road side breakdowns. Air cooled Porsche's are of course exempt :-)
