How to drive a tram on the Manx Electric Railway
A short film explaining the controls of a tram on the Manx Electric Railway, and how to use them to drive a tram correctly.
The film is made on MER Car No.1, the Guinness Book of Records authenticated Oldest Operational Electric Tramcar in the World still operating on its original line.
It is the first ever item of rolling stock obtained in 1893, from G.F Milnes, for the Douglas and Laxey Coast Electric Tramway, entering service during September 1893.
The film is made to mark its 130th anniversary in 2023.
Presented by Andrew Scarffe.
Made at the Derby Castle Yard in Douglas, in May 2023.
