S. Korea reports 73,589 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday

신규환자 7만 3,589명...전주 대비 1.12배 증가

South Korea today saw a decline in the number of new COVID-19 cases,... down to about 73-thousand... from 82-thousand the day before.
Week on week, cases have recently been doubling, but this is an on-week increase of only about 10 percent.
There continue to be several hundred imported cases per day last week saw the most in a single day so far.
The number of severe cases has doubled from a week ago to 284.
The authorities do say, though,... that the latest uptick is smaller than expected... because a large part of the population acquired immunity during the Omicron wave early this year.
