Why Chelsea DON'T Need Erling Haaland! | Scout Report

Thomas Tuchel’s first months at Chelsea have been hugely successful, with an amazing defensive record and signature away wins at Atletico Madrid and Liverpool, but that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill spinning. In the midst of a worrying dry spell for Timo Werner, the club have been heavily linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Braut Haaland, and many fans will feel the Norwegian has more chance of boosting the Blues up the table than the team’s current youngsters: Abraham, Mount, Havertz, Pulisic, and Hudson-Odoi.

However, we think there are good reasons to keep faith in those players, and that Tuchel’s system can get the best out of Werner, whose record in Germany rivalled Haaland’s. We also identify other areas of the squad more worthy of investment, profiling West Ham’s Declan Rice as a possible heir to N’Golo Kante in defensive midfield.
