Beyond the Metal: NASA Investigating Soft Robots for Space Exploration
In Langley’s Makerspace Lab, interns Chuck Sullivan and Jack Fitzpatrick are using a Harvard design to learn how to develop a series of soft robot actuators by 3D printing flexible silicone molds. While in the early stages of their research, the pair is looking at a series of properties to understand how actuators can be built and used in space.
