Thomas Edison and his colleague William Dickson were joint inventors of the original motion picture machine. Some of Edison's early films dealt with the firefighting methods of his day. The Library of Congress contains an early Edison film production dealing with the subject of fire rescue.

Edison's films on the subject of fire safety-closely parallel Firefighters in Action the video wall presentation produced for the Fire Museum. It is interesting to note that, while almost a century removed in time, the story lines are remarkably similar.

The video tape reporduction of Edison's work allows you to review and compare America's firefighting heroes, both past and present. You will additionally see a preview of a sound and light show in the country's newest fire museum at the G.W. Reily Fire Station No. 10.
