Eric Church joins rock band Halestorm for workout song “I Like It Heavy”

You may not of heard of Halestorm, but you’ve definitely seen the lead singer. Her name is Lzzy Hale. She joined Church for many live versions of “That’s Damn Rock n Roll.” This song is a banger.

Lzzy Hale told Kerrang!: "We took a little bit of influence from '70s rockers and made a fun track - in the background you can hear some of the guys just goofing off as we're doing it."
Halestorm close their Into the Wild Life album with this track. Guitarist Joe Hottinger told TeamRock: "We grew up on Lemmy and Ozzy and Zeppelin, and we wanted to bring that home at the end of the record."

"Great heavy music like Sabbath or Zeppelin has an emotional weight to it," he continued. "The heaviness comes from the groove and the lyrics. It's not about massive distortion and screaming. We're not talking about that kind of heavy. It's more about the soul-crushing weight, you know? "

"We tried out about three or four different versions of this song in the studio to figure out which way sounded the best," Hottinger added. "In the end this bluesy one, four, five progression with a nice old school classic rock feel just felt the best to play."
