Shamshir cutting practise

A nice day to have some practise with curved swords.
This is Cold Steel shamshir. I really like this older version without excessive art on the guard.

and some accidental stress test on the blade... Did not mean to hit that stand, then again. The blade is fine, guard is fine and handle is fine. Not a dent on the edge. This is a good sword.
The wooden stand did get a deep cut though :D

Watching the video, I feel that when I try to do consecutive cuts, my edge alingment starts to change, as I try to prepare for the next cut too early. I need to commit pulling trhough the cut and then quickly transfer to next one... I need more practise...
