TEER Simulation: DORV with Fontan Anatomy
Transcatheter edge-to-edge valve repair (TEER) is a complex procedure requiring delivery and alignment of the device to the target valve, which can be challenging in atypical or surgically palliated anatomy. We demonstrate the application of virtual and physical simulation using image-derived models to plan the optimal TEER access and catheter path in normal and congenitally abnormal cardiac anatomy.
This video presents the virtual (SlicerHeart ValveClip Device Simulator module in 3D Slicer software) and physical (image-derived, patient specific 3D printed heart model) simulation of TEER access and catheter path for a patient with double-outlet right ventricle (DORV), left ventricular hypoplasia, and interrupted inferior vena cava (IVC) after Fontan palliation.
