3 Steps to Playing Rock Grooves with BRUSHES

Today we’re talking about some basic brush technique, but more specifically - how to play rock grooves with brushes. This is extremely applicable, since most opportunities to play brushes actually arise on rock or pop gigs when we’re constrained to a small room. Being able to take a traditionally “louder” song and make it work on brushes is a valuable skill to have. We’re gonna go through 3 steps that all tie together to help you improve your brush game. I hope today’s video inspires you to *brush-up* on your skills! Yes, this is definitely a brief overview of some topics we could go way more in depth with, but the basics of achieving good brush sounds really revolve around having the right mindset. Follow those steps, and you’ll find yourself creating very musical sounds and grooves on your kit. If you find yourself playing a gig at a small venue, these skills will be invaluable.
