I create and record these stories to give you a more literary written Chinese input, alongside my regular topic-based videos.

Spoken Chinese and written Chinese can be quite different, especially when it comes to word choice.

It’s necessary to get this kind of input in small doses. Because you’ll encounter this style everywhere: posters, ads, books, news, blogs, menus, HSK exams — literally everywhere!

But I still want the stories to be easy enough to follow just by listening. So they’re written in short sentences, not long, complicated ones that you have to struggle to understand.

As a language learner myself, sometimes I just want something easy and calming to listen to, without having to focus fully.

These stories are made for just that purpose.
Listen once or twice with subtitles, and you’ll get the general idea.
Then play them in the background whenever you want something light — and you’ll have some different material for passive learning!
