How to Contour a Diamond Shaped Face with Eyeshadow | Easy Technique for a Natural Finish
In this video, you’ll learn how to use eyeshadow for contouring. You don’t need to buy a separate contouring palette if you already have the perfect shadow in a palette or single eyeshadow at home, just waiting for you to play with it!
Tools you’ll need:
- Eyeshadow Palette or Single Eyeshadow
- Medium Face Brush
Step 1: Choose the Right Contouring Shadow
Do not confuse a contouring color with a bronzing color, as the two are completely different from each other!
A contouring shadow is a cool-toned/grayish-brown shadow that you’ll add to the areas that you want to take back out of focus in order to highlight something else.
Have a look at some of your eyeshadow palettes or single eyeshadows and see if you can find a color that would make a great contouring shadow. In the end, a contouring palette and eyeshadow are the same. Both come in a powder formula that can be used as a contouring shadow.
For fair skin tones, go with a light grey brownish shadow; for medium skin tones, go with a medium grey brownish shadow, and for darker skin tones, go with a deeper grey brown shadow.
Step 2: Use the Eyeshadow for Contouring
Use a medium-size face brush or a contouring brush and dig into the eyeshadow that you’ve chosen to use for contouring. Do not load up the face brush with too much eyeshadow, and always tap off the excess so you can build up the color and control the finish.
You can contour under your cheekbones and forehead and a bit under the chin and jawline to bring everything together.
